The most common question from women new to yoni eggs: which size do I start with? The short answer might surprise you.
The three sizes at a glance
| Size | Roughly | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Large | ~45 x 30 mm | Beginners — start here |
| Medium | ~40 x 25 mm | Once you feel confident |
| Small | ~30 x 20 mm | Experienced practice |
Which size should a beginner start with?
Counter-intuitively, start with the largest egg. It is easier to feel, easier to hold with gentle muscle engagement, and easier to keep comfortably in place while you learn. A very small egg is harder for a beginner to sense and control.
How to progress
As your pelvic-floor strength grows, move to medium, then small. The smaller the egg, the more control it asks of you. There is no rush and no wrong pace.
Drilled or undrilled?
A drilled egg has a hole to thread unwaxed cotton or dental floss for easy removal — reassuring for beginners. An undrilled egg is removed with your own muscles. If in doubt, start drilled.
Our recommendation
The easiest start is a set of all three sizes — begin with the large and keep the others ready. Nephrite jade is the traditional, durable first stone.
A yoni egg is a wellness and pelvic-floor (Kegel) exercise tool, not a medical device. If you are pregnant, have an IUD, an infection, or any concern, please check with your healthcare provider first, and always listen to your body.
