Moissanite is named after Henri Moissan, the chemist who found its first tiny crystals in 1893 in rock from a meteorite crater in Arizona and at first took them for diamond. In this ring a round moissanite sits high in four claws, and a slim vine of pavé leaves curls past it on both sides, as if the ring were still growing.
